Ways You Can Volunteer

By donating your time, you can make a difference in the lives of women we serve. Our volunteers are essential to providing a number of services, including court, phone and program support; fundraising; social programming within correctional institutions; research; and administration. Please see volunteer opportunities below.

Bingo Support Volunteer- Learn More

Volunteers in this role will support the Volunteer, Communications and Fundraising team with our charitable gaming fundraising efforts, through our partnership with Delta Bingo & Gaming. This position is ideal for those who want to volunteer with Elizabeth Fry Toronto but cannot commit to more than a few hours a month or to a set shift.

Court Support Volunteer- Learn More

Volunteers in this role will work closely with court personnel, duty counsel, and other agencies within the courts. They will offer practical and emotional support to women both in and out of custody who are going through the court process at Finch Court. This position is ideal for those who want to get familiar with the Canadian court system and learn how to support woman navigating the criminal justice system.

Talk and Listen Helpline Volunteer- Learn More

Talk and Listen is a peer and community run initiative provided for women in conflict with the law, including those who are incarcerated. Volunteers are trained to act as a compassionate listening ear and help to link callers with information to services and resources in the community. Our Talk and Listen volunteers are here to help work with callers as they navigate the criminal justice system. This position is ideal for those who enjoy connecting folks with different resources and share a passion for helping others.

General Support Volunteer- Learn More

Our organization is looking for dedicated individuals to join us in our mission to make a positive impact in our community by supporting various ad-hoc initiatives like packaging holiday hampers, event support (Prisoners’ Justice Day or Client Holiday Party) administrative duties etc.  This position is ideal for those who have are able to support different activities that arise during the year.
